Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma
Trauma doesn't just live in memory—it can show up as flashbacks, hypervigilance, avoidance, irritability, emotional numbness, or a nervous system that stays stuck in fight-or-flight long after the danger has passed. For first responders, this often looks like difficulty switching off after a shift, disrupted sleep, strained relationships, or carrying the weight of calls that never seem to fully leave you.
PTSD and trauma occur when the mind and body struggle to process a distressing or overwhelming experience, leaving it unresolved and unintegrated—even when you've tried to push through it or move on. As a therapist, I use evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches to help you safely process what happened, regulate your nervous system, and rebuild a sense of safety and control. My goal is to help you carry the experience without letting it carry you—so you can be fully present in your work, your relationships, and your life.
